CLIMBING IS FOR EVERY BODY
Join Wild and Weightless and Sarah Regan for a 3 day, 2 night climbing retreat at Smith Rock State Park, Oregon.
During this 3 day, 2 night climbing retreat, you will be given the opportunity to explore the relationship you have with your body while surrounded and encouraged by like-minded women.
Through 3 days of climbing, we will focus on building trust in our bodies and gaining confidence on and off of the wall. And of course, have a lot of fun in the process.
Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced climber, we can set routes that will challenge you in all of the right ways. We will play with experiential therapy techniques that will utilize climbing in building body image resiliency.
Find freedom from creating your own definition of wellness, that comes from a place of joy and compassion. Not from fear and hatred of your body.
3 days of individualized climbing instruction at Smith Rock State Park. Learn the foundational aspects of climbing, (or get a quick refresher) so that you feel confident on the rock and at the crag. Learn new techniques and build confidence in leveling up your climbing game.
Throughout the course of the weekend, we will have specific workshops around developing a more trusting and accepting relationship with your body. You will walk away from the weekend with tools and lessons to use on adventures or at home.
Create community with women who are ready to take up space and create a life that is not centered around a number on the scale or the size of their jeans. Get clear on what matters most to you, and gain the confidence to take the next steps in whatever your goals are.
WHAT YOU'LL RECIEVE
There is no "body type" required to relish in the infinite joy that rock climbing has to offer. The activity has no prejudice, and yet there remains a stigma deterring those who do not fit an "athletic build".
The truth is that anyone can climb and the challenge within climbing is unique to you! When you use your own body to maneuver over the multi-featured rock wall, you find that each movement is unique to you and your body. Perhaps you are shorter and draw strength from your ability to high step. Maybe you draw strength in from your legs and excel on low-angle terrain. You will find that the distinct construction of your body is your secret weapon that leads you to the top.
Friday morning we will meet at Smith Rock State Park where we will begin our time together. Come prepared with water, snacks, lunch, and a backpack. All climbing gear will be provided. If you have your own you are more than welcome to bring that as well.
Each day will be a mixture of therapeutic and experiential workshops and time spent climbing. Supported by a licensed therapist, and an experienced rock climbing guide who also happens to be a body-positive coach.
Trip dates: May 20th -22nd, 2022
LODGING + FOOD
After our days spent climbing we will retreat back to our private house just steps away from Smith Rock. There you will have the comfort of a warm bed, shower, and hot tub. We will spend our mornings and evening here doing our therapeutic workshops with a cup of hot coffee or tea in our hands and wind down at night over a plate of hot food and drinks. We won't exactly be roughing it.
Breakfast, dinner, coffee, and tea will be provided throughout the weekend. We ask you to come prepared with three days of lunches and snacks to keep you fueled during the days. While alcoholic beverages will not be provided you are more than welcome to bring them with you to enjoy at the end of the day.
